Title: Reaper’s Stand
Series: Reapers MC
Author: Joanna Wylde
Release Date: October 7, 2014
As Reapers Motorcycle Club president, Reese “Picnic” Hayes has given his entire life to the club. After losing his wife, he knew he’d never love another woman. And with two daughters to raise and a club to manage, that was just fine with him. These days, Reese keeps his relationships free and easy—he definitely doesn’t want to waste his time on a glorified cleaning lady like London Armstrong.
Too bad he’s completely obsessed with her.
Besides running her own business, London’s got her junkie cousin’s daughter to look after—a more reckless than average eighteen-year-old. Sure she’s attracted to the Reapers’ president, but she’s not stupid. Reese Hayes is a criminal and a thug. But when her young cousin gets caught up with a ruthless drug cartel, Reese might be the only man who can help her. Now London has to make the hardest decision of her life—how far will she go to save her family?
This is the Reapers MC book I had been waiting for. From the moment I picked up Reaper’s Property (the first book in the Reapers MC series) I have been curious about Picnic, the club President. Oh, and did you get a good look at that cover?! WOWZA!!!
When Reese “Picnic” Hayes first laid eyes on London he knew he wanted her. The opportunity to get to know her and get closer to her comes about when London is forced to speak to Picnic in order to get her niece Jessica, who lives with her, out of a party at The Reaper’s Clubhouse. In exchange for getting Jessica out of there, Picnic gets London to clean his house for him.
What starts as a trade off ends up in a relationship. Unfortunately, her niece gets in a bad situation that leaves London no choice but to take action in a way that she knows will have very serious repercussions.
Once again (as with Devil’s Game) Joanna Wylde had me feeling desperate for the characters and not knowing how they will come out of the situations that come about. Clearly the woman is a genius!!!!
Picnic and London got five very hot and strong espressos. I know, it should be ice cold beer, that’s what a Reaper would have, but coffee is how I roll.
