ISHO SummaryReina Easton never expected to be training a cheerleading squad for a baseball team. But the owner of the building where her burlesque club is housed is threatening to sell, and she needs to get a deposit together.

Malachi Coulter can’t believe that Alex Winters wants cheerleaders for their team. When he meets Reina, he can’t deny his attraction… He’s just not sure that Reina’s wild ways are what he’s looking for. Reina isn’t thrilled about finding herself attracted to a guy like Mal, ex-army, motorcycle, security, tough guy.

When a crazed fan starts causing trouble, Mal is pulled in two directions. He wants to shut the squad down but Reina wants the money. Can a former bad boy and a former bad girl team up to win the day or are they just destined to strike out?

isho-my-opinion2This is the third book in the New York Saints Series. I jumped at the opportunity to get it from NetGalley (in exchange for my honest opinion, of course) seeing as I loved the first two books.

Melanie Scott sure does know how to write a sexy hero.  Mal is the head of security for the New York Saints, a team he bought with his two friends, Alex and Lucas (see the first two books for their stories). This is where I tell you that Mal is tattooed and rides a motorcycle.  NEED I SAY MORE?! Well yes, I do need to mention that after suffering through a terrorist act with his two friends, Mal joined the armed forces and considers himself a protector.

I really loved Reina.  She’s smart, successful and sexy and she does NOT need a man to look after her.  After dealing with a former boyfriend that was heading towards being abusive she doesn’t want anyone telling her what to do. So when she meets Mal, the “Freakin’ hot dark lord” (her words, not mine) she’s instantly attracted to him.  She’s a straight talker and lays it all out for him.  She does not beat around the bush.  Reina also gets extra points from me for owning a Maine Coon named Wash.

The two together sizzle!  They both have to keep their tendencies to over protect (Mal) and to refuse to be looked after (Reina) in check so that they can see where their relationship will go.

I gave Lawless In Leather four hot and steamy cappuccinos that can be enjoyed slowly and deliberately.

ISHO Author BioI was born in Melbourne, Australia but grew up in the country surrounded by green rolling hills and many cows. Melbourne got me back for university and I’ve been a city girl ever since. Mostly in Melbourne, a brief sojourn in London. My life, apart from the day job, revolves around books, writing, the odd sewing, knitting, spinning or quilting binge and taking orders from my feline overlords.

My two great reading loves have always been romance and fantasy. I grew up reading Tolkien alongside L.M. Montgomery and Susan Cooper, Diana Wynne Jones and David Eddings mixed with Heyer, Austen and all the Harlequin and Loveswept books I could find. So I guess it’s inevitable that I wound up writing books that incorporate both genres.

I’m currently writing a contemporary romance trilogy for St. Martin’s Press.

ISHO Summary

WILL A LOVE OF THE GAME

Sara Charles is striking out on her own. With her dad out of commission, Charles Air has only one helicopter left—and only Sara to fly charters. With the family business in jeopardy, Sara needs all the clients she can get and the newest one is New York Saints team surgeon, Lucas Angelo. When an unexpected flirtation escalates into a night of pure blind passion, Sara is in agony over what she believes was extremely poor judgment on her part. She wants nothing more than to avoid Lucas. And keep her business her business. But she needs him—in more ways than one.

LEAD TO A FIELD OF DREAMS?

But there is a catch: Lucas also needs Sara. Spring training is upon him, and his schedule is madness. So he asks Sara to be his personal pilot. It’s an offer she can’t refuse. She intends to keep him at arm’s length—especially when she discovers just what different lives they have. Little does Sara know that, for Lucas, the only thing more important than business is pleasure. He only plays to win. And he intends to hit it out of the park…

isho-my-opinion2

I received this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.  I had read the first book in the series Devil in Denim and was looking forward to reading this second book in the New York Saints series.

Sara is a helicopter pilot chartered to fly Dr. Lucas Angelo to an event. A storm strands them together which results in a night of hot passion.  Unfortunately, circumstances for Sara are such that she has to leave Lucas without saying goodbye.

Lucas can’t stop thinking about her and he and the New York Saints (the baseball team that he and his two friends own) decide to hire Sara as their helicopter pilot.

Unlike Sara, Lucas knows what he wants and isn’t afraid to go get it.  Sara, on the other hand, is not so sure.  They have different lifestyles and she can’t seem to stop dwelling on that.

I really did enjoy this story and these characters and ss always, it’s nice to visit with old friends (characters from the previous book).  I gave Angel in Armani five delicious cups of coffee and am definitely looking forward to book three Lawless in Leather.

Bad Romeo by Leisa Rayven

I’m just over halfway through and really enjoying this.  My review will post in the next few days.

What I recently read:

Voyager by Diana Gabaldon

I’m not gonna lie.  I thought I was never going to finish this book.  It’s sooooo long!  That said, I freakin’ loved it!  It was a crazy roller coaster ride.  I love Jamie and Claire.  I’m looking forward to reading the next book even though I’m afraid that I’ll be old and grey by the time I finish the whole series.

What I plan to read next:

Angel in Armani by Melanie Scott

This is book two in the New York Saints series. I read the first book Devil in Denim and really enjoyed it (see my review here).  Looking forward to reading this.

ISHO SummaryLife Just Threw Her A Curveball.

As the team-owner’s daughter, Maggie Jameson grew up in the New York Saints’ stadium—glove, cap, hot dogs, and all. Baseball’s in her blood, and she’s always dreamed of the day when she would lead the Saints to victory herself. That was before her dad had to sell the team to Alex Winters. The fast-talking, fiercely attractive businessman has a baseball pedigree that’s distinctly minor league. Maggie wants to hate him but his skills of seduction, however, are off the charts.

Will Love Be A Home Run?

Alex could never have imagined how much this team means to Maggie. He needs her to help show the players that they’re still a family…even if he and Maggie are at the verge of exchanging blows. But her fiery determination and gorgeous looks prove irresistible to Alex. And much as he wants to relegate their relationship to the playing field—and get the Saints back in the game—Alex just can’t help himself: What he wants to win most is Maggie’s heart…

isho-my-opinion2I received The Devil in Denim from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.  I’m always up for a good sports romance with a hot cover.

Right from the beginning, I immediately felt for Maggie.  She’s basically had the rug pulled out from under her.  Her dad has sold her legacy and she’s unable to understand why he’s done it.  She lives and breathes the team and is suspicious of the new owners.

The team has been sold to Alex and his two partners (I’m looking forward to their books in the series).  I REALLY liked him! He’s a successful business man and hot as hell.  The chemistry between him and Maggie is palpable but she constantly compares him to the devil and tries desperately not to like him or even acknowledge the attraction. But what’s not to like?! He’s just too hot to be denied.

There were times in the book when I wanted to shake Maggie.  Growing up the daughter of a baseball team owner, she had a sense of entitlement to the team.  I understand where she got that but that doesn’t automatically make her the best CEO.  I think she eventually comes to terms with this.

I really enjoyed this book and give it five delicious cups of java. I’m definitely looking forward to the next books in this series.

• What do you think you’ll read next?

Here’s where I’m at:

What I’m currently reading:

Voyager by Diana Gabaldon

I’m about 40% into this one.  Loving Jamie and Claire of course, but I have to put it on hold because I HAVE to read other books.  I will say this again:  I think I’ll be 85 before I finish this whole series but it will definitely be worth it.  Also, I am loving the TV show.  What great visuals to go with the books.  Repeat after me:  Sam Heughan!!!

and

The Devil in Denim by Melanie Scott

I just started this one. It’s the first book in a new series called New York Saints. So far so good.  I love reading about sports romances.  I’ll post my opinion next week.

What I recently read:

Seeing as the last book I read hasn’t changed from last week’s post I won’t bore you with that again.

What I hope to read next:

Stone Cold Lover by Christine Warren

This is the second book in the Gargoyle series.  I really enjoyed the first book so I’m definitely looking forward to continuing the story with this one.

and

No Weddings by Kat Bastion and Stone Bastion

I mentioned this one last week but was unable to start it yet.  I hope to be done by the end of the week.  I will be posting my opinion closer to release date.

Now it’s your turn to tell me what your W…W…W… are. SHARING IS CARING!
