Beckett Taylor’s quest to be a better man has brought Eve Hartt back into his life, but sometimes it feels like they’re bound together with barbed wire. Though he longs to love her without causing pain, the wreckage of their past continues to crash down around them.

Yet with the help of this brothers—and for his brothers—Beckett won’t stop trying. He’s determined to make them all a family, to make a life they want to live, and to make Poughkeepsie a place that’s safe to live it.

He can feel their futures balanced precariously on his shoulders: Blake and Livia and their children, Cole and Kyle and the new baby they’ve just brought home, and Eve…always Eve. He wants their dreams to be real. But murderers don’t just get Happily Ever After handed to them. They have to wrench it away from Satan himself.

Good thing Beckett is prepared to do just that. After all, saving Poughkeepsie is the only way his story ends.

Prepare your heart and your head for a wild ride in this final installment of the Poughkeepsie Brotherhood series. Debra Anastasia does not disappoint as she weaves the last chapter of a story that blends true love, turbulent emotions, and life’s harsh realities into an uplifting tale that calls to the good in each of us.

isho-my-opinion2I have been a fan of this series since I read Poughkeepsie (book 1) a couple of years ago.  There are so many great characters in this series but I started out loving Blake to death.  As much as I love Blake and everyone else, Beckett has come to be the one that I love most.

This book had me laughing out loud and had me crying my ass off.  Talk about putting me through the wringer! It was a roller coaster ride. Debra Anastasia had me feeling so damn much. From having my belly feeling all warm and fuzzy, to being totally horrified, to having my heart broken, to feeling pride and happiness.  As for laughing out loud, wait until you see some of the name calling between Beckett and Ryan.  So creative!!!!

I already mentioned that I loved Beckett but I also loved how hopeful he is for the future. How despite his past he still has the will to do good.  I loved his relationship with his brothers.  Blood brothers could not be closer than Blake, Cole and Beckett.  There is nothing that Beckett wouldn’t do for them and their families.  I loved how he loves Eve.  He knows Eve better than anyone and he never stops trying to be worthy of her.  I think you get that I just loved everything about this book.

I was sad to see this series come to an end.  I have loved every moment.  Saving Poughkeepsie gets five bold, strong espressos from me.

“Come with me.” He led her to the beach again, but during dinner a few people had been busy. It was now lined with an aisle of candles, and a man stood close to the breaking surf, hands crossed, waiting. Someone had used the surrounding sand as a canvas, creating a swirling pattern. Their names were part of the art.

What? She asked without a sound.

“I want you to marry me. Here. Now.”

Beckett let go of her hand and strode away. When he turned around, close to the water at the end of the aisle, he hoped to hell she wasn’t running in the other direction.

Beckett held out his hand, and when she put her left one in his, he lifted it to his lips and kissed it…  Her heart fluttered.  She felt princess tingles like a real girl, and it made her blush.  She could feel the heat on her cheeks.

Welcome to the Poughkeepsie Enhanced Collector’s Edition App Tour!

Poughkeepsie by Debra Anastasia has been a cult hit bestseller since 2011. A homeless guy counting the smiles of a kind train commuter spiraled into a novel that was nominated by the Rockstars of Romance as one of the most romantic stories ever and won 2nd place!   It was a story that deserved getting a jumbo-sized enhancement. Extra scenes out the ying yang was, of course, a huge part of the fun. Getting to spend some of those previously undiscovered first moments with Blake and Livia or the moment he proposed was worth exploring. In Debra’s wildest dreams she imagined Poughkeepsie with its own soundtrack, anchored by her favorite musicians. When blockbuster talent Ron Pope signed on with fourteen songs and then Rustic Overtones agreed as well, she knew things were going to get crazy cool.

After almost two full years of development, the Enhanced Poughkeepsie is ready.  Debra lost count of the hours spent, as did the developer poured into this. It was a beast, and more amazing than she could have ever imagined. This app became the most exceptional reading experience Debra could devise for her readers.

Beckett Taylor is a murderer. His calling, his craft are destruction and intimidation—whether he wants it that way now or not. He left Poughkeepsie to keep his brothers safe, to keep Eve safe. Set up with happy lives to live, they’re better off without him, right?

But all his willpower crumbles when he hears his brother Blake’s frantic voice on the phone. An unknown enemy has moved in on his old territory, and Livia’s been taken. In an instant, Beckett knows it will take an attack only he and Eve can execute to bring her back. All his self-imposed embargoes are torn to shreds, perhaps along with the new man he’s struggled to become.

“Brother, call Eve. I’ll be there soon.”

In this emotional and action-packed sequel to Poughkeepsie, Debra Anastasia conjures a tale of love at its most raw and ragged. With Beckett and Eve, how could we expect anything less? But even when it’s messy, not magical, true love perseveres. Real love finds a way—for better or for worse until death does part.

After reading Poughkeepsie I was hopeful that there would be more to Beckett & Eve’s story.  You can imagine my excitement when I heard about Return To Poughkeepsie.  Then I saw the cover…WOWZA!!!!!

Beckett is THE BADASS that you love to love. Even after all the things he’s done you still HAVE to love him.  In this book Beckett wants to be a better man and he comes to the conclusion that while he’s doing this he needs to stay away from everyone.  Part of this process includes adopting a dog which he names Gandhi.  [Note:  You all know what a sucker I am for hot guys with pets].  I love his relationship with his dog *sigh*.

Eve is perfect for Beckett.  She is the female version of him.  Like Beckett, I always felt she was justified in her actions and even cheered her on.  She’s beautiful, lethal and deeply in love with Beckett whether she admits it or not.

Of course, we are reintroduced to Livia and Blake and meet their children.  They are such a lovely family.  I’m pretty sure that Blake is the perfect husband.  When you read this I just know you will agree with me. [Hint:  bath, wine, candles…etc.]

We also catch up with Cole and Kyle.  We journey with them on their attempts to start a family of their own.  Yes, Cole is just as perfect a husband as Blake is.  Very swoony.

One thing that made me weepy every time, was mentions of Mouse.  He was such an important character in the first book and I loved him.  Each mention of him in this book made my eyes tear up.

I absolutely loved this book and would definitely recommend it to EVERYONE.  I gave it five very delicious cups of java.
