Worth It All

ISHO Summary

She’s fighting for control. . . . Paige Roberts learned to fend for herself growing up. Now she’s doing everything possible to give her daughter, Casey, the stability she never had. But when the vivacious five-year-old decides she’s done wearing her prosthesis, Paige faces her toughest challenge yet: trusting a handsome, brooding stranger who simply wants to help.

He’s struggling to connect. . . . JT McKinney lost more than his leg in a car accident that stole his dreams of pro football. Eight years later, he’s made a new life for himself far away from his old one. His business is developing cutting-edge prosthetics and he’s more than happy to turn his attention to machines instead of people. Still, he can’t shake the feeling that something’s missing.

Will they take a chance on love? . . . When JT gets the chance to help Paige’s daughter, he takes it. He never planned on the two of them tearing down his walls or teaching him to believe in himself again. Paige might not believe in happily ever afters, but JT wants more than anything to be her prince. They’ll both have to let go of the past if they want a future.

Having read the two previous McKinney Brothers books and knowing how swoony they were, I was definitely looking forward to reading all about JT.

If you’re looking for sweet, then this is definitely the book for you.  JT has some regrets from his past but he’s still a super nice guy.  Paige is a hard-working single mom trying to get somewhere in life.  Throw in a cute little girl named Casey and there you have it…SWEET.

JT’s football career is derailed by an accident wherein he loses his leg.  He then devotes his energies to his business as a biomedical engineer, specifically making prosthesis for amputees. When he meets Paige he’s taken by her pretty face but then meets her daughter, who is also an amputee, and they become his focus.

Paige is a single mother who works two jobs and goes to school so she can better her and her daughter’s lives.  When she meets JT she’s attracted to him but doesn’t want the distraction that she knows he will be.

The two become friends and then more.  Add to this the fact that JT and Casey have a special friendship.  I don’t want to spoil it but nail polish may or may not be involved. Also, it was nice to visit with the other McKinney clan members.

Overall this was a great read for me.  I couldn’t put it down.  I enjoyed their journey and would recommend this book to all who appreciate a sweet romance.  I gave Worth It All five super delicious cappuccinos, with extra sugar.
