What’s on my Kobo today:
I am presently reading two books. Both of which I was extremely excited about.
Danger and betrayal, secrets and enchantment in the breathtaking conclusion to the Infernal Devices trilogy
Tessa Gray should be happy – aren’t all brides happy?
Yet as she prepares for her wedding, a net of shadows begins to tighten around the Shadowhunters of the London Institute.
A new demon appears, one linked by blood and secrecy to Mortmain, the man who plans to use his army of pitiless automatons, the Infernal Devices, to destroy the Shadowhunters. Mortmain needs only one last item to complete his plan. He needs Tessa. And Jem and Will, the boys who lay equal claim to Tessa’s heart, will do anything to save her.

Just some random thoughts on a rainy Friday that I thought I’d share. Nothing too earth shattering. I promise!
Along with everyone else, I saw the quick but amazing 30 second trailer for Cosmopolis yesterday. Yes, it’s true! I’m still alive to tell the tale. I can’t even tell you how much I am looking forward to this movie. Looking at this pic on the right I think of a few things but mainly I think how HOT Rob Eric Packer looks with a gun in his hand. Which leads me to my next random thought… [W4R: OhmyGod… OhmyGod… OhmyGod… OhmyGod… LMAO]
What is it about Rob that makes him look so sexy doing bad things, like holding a gun (see pic above) or smoking? Smoking is considered by most to be a vile habit [I’m not saying whether I agree or disagree with that] But damn! Put a cigarette in that boys hand…or *GULP* between his lips and…well…HOT is all I can say.
Moving on to other random thoughts… I’ve been reading A LOT lately *snicker* [since when do I not read a lot?]. I am referring to books not fan fiction. [W4R: What is this you speak of?!?!] I recently read two books that I really enjoyed. The series is called The Fallen by Kristina Douglas. There are two books available at the moment, Raziel and Demon, with a third book, Warrior, due out soon. Honestly, I bought Raziel because it was on sale on Kobo [W4R: I love my Kobo app, just thought you’d like to know! :P] and because of the cover. No point in lying about that 😉 I’m a pretty easy-going book reader. I tend to enjoy most books. I started reading the first book because I was looking for a filler until the next Black Dagger Botherhood (AKA “BDB“) book comes out. [W4R: And now you have ME reading it, too… LOL] I ended up loving it and devoured it in a couple of days. Then promptly obtained the second book and got through that one pretty quick. I seem to now be fixated on these Fallen Angels. Which, is a perfect segue way for my next random thought…
I don’t think I need to add anything more to that random thought! 🙂 [W4R: Hellooo there, Angel Man!]
Speaking of reading, I just started book two in Karen Marie Moning’s Highlander series. For some reason, I was a bit reluctant to start this. In fact, I actually started reading the first book a few times but put it aside for other books. [W4R: I’ve been recommended these books as well, but I’ve not picked them up yet.. eh… should I? LOL] But, at my FB friend Angela’s insistence I got back at it and boy am I glad I did. Who doesn’t love hot Scotsmen with a touch of the supernatural/paranormal. Now don’t hate me for saying this but *whispers* I’m enjoying these books more than the Fever Series which I did like quite a bit.
March 27th can’t get here soon enough!!!! That is the date of release for the 10th book [W4R: OMG! There’s 9 already?! I have a lot of catching up to do! Hey, at least I don’t have to wait, right? LOL] in the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward. The book about Tohrment is so highly anticipated by so many that I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of the BDB fans will be calling in sick on that day just so they can sit and read. I am really looking forward to Tohr’s story as well as a lot of the back stories going on in the series. Might I just mention Blay and Qhuinn.
That’s pretty much it for today’s random thoughts. Well, okay, I’ll leave you with one more…
… and I do believe that brings me full circle 🙂 [W4R: Hummannna hummaannnaa hummmmaannnna! LOL]
*Writing4Roses is kind enough to look over my ramblings to make sure I’m dotting all my Is and crossing all my Ts (and to add the odd witty comment every here and there).

So 2012 is upon us, and moving very quickly too. January has almost come and gone but there’s so much more to come this year. So many things that I’m looking forward to.

“Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens...” ok, that’s not what I was going to really say but those sound so good.
My sister recently made a blog post called Things I Love in 400 Words. After getting me all sentimental and weepy it got me thinking about making a similar post. There are so many things I love that I fear I would bore everyone to tears with the long list (never mind trying to keep it under 400 words) so I’m going to keep it down to just “a few”.
Let’s start with a few of the fan fiction stories that have owned my arse in the last little while:
Open to Interpretation by elvis4scilla
Robert Pattinson is twenty-five years old and a solid A-list international star. He is on the last leg of a European promotional tour for his latest film, when he meets a sexy much older woman who has been hired to serve as his language interpreter. What will develop during their travels throughout Spain, Italy, England, France and America? Will this older woman teach Rob about love and lust or will he have something to teach her? Lots of ripe, juicy, delicious lemons and possibly other fruit.
Note: I don’t usually read RP fics (for my own sanity, I think) but DAMN!!! This one is so good. [W4R: Yes, I love it too!]
Footprints in the Snow by cosmogirl7481
“An hour from now, when the snow falls again, it will be like we weren’t even there. But we will remember.” A story of unrequited love, and how the things we keep silent can hurt us and the ones we hold closest. E/B Rated M for themes of an adult nature.
Note: You know you just can’t go wrong with any story written by Cosmogirl7481
Masen Days by purelyamuse
3rd Place Winner in the Boys on Boards contest! Now an EXPANDED multi-chap! Bella meets Masen at the local skate park. He’s a quiet, mysterious loner. She wants to help him, love him even. Will he let her? Or will he skate away like he always does? AH
Note: I love this Edward. I just want to hug him.
Let’s move on to a few of my fave fan made videos:

Mad About The Boy: Robert Pattinson by MelbieToast
Why We Love Vishous by Calanthaa
What?! You thought they were all going to be about Rob? Had to sneak some Black Dagger Brotherhood‘s Vishous in there 🙂
As usual this wouldn’t be a post from me if I didn’t bring some Robp0rn. Here are a few of my favourite things about Rob:
I can start with his beautiful blue eyes. Followed by his mouth (especially that bottom lip) and that delicious scruff of his. These are a few of my favourite things about Rob.
BUT WAIT!…..
How could I possibly not include my all time favourite thing about Rob?! HIS NECK!!!! I’ll spare you all the details about why I love his neck (that would have to be a post all on its own).
And last but not least, I have to include a few “real life” favourite things:
Yup! These are most definitely a few of my favourite things!
*Unfortunately Writing4Roses who usually is kind enough to look over my ramblings to make sure I’m dotting all my Is and crossing all my Ts has not looked this over. So any errors in spelling or grammar are completely my own. [UPDATED! — > **Writing4Roses has approved this message! LOL]

The first time I heard of the Black Dagger Brotherhood books by J. R. Ward was from my friend Caroline. I vaguely recall some of her tweets as she read from book-to-book. Unfortunately, I didn’t pay enough attention and never got around to reading them myself until recently. Besides, I was deeply entrenched in Fan Fiction hell at the time. 😉
At the moment, the series consists of 9 books plus an insider’s guide. Click here for a synopsis of each book.
The books are classified as Paranormal Romance. I like to think of them as Twilight for grown-ups. Don’t get me wrong, other than the main characters being vampires and that each book is essentially a love story, that’s where the Twilight similarities end. Plenty of love, sex, and violence here. There’s something very sexy about a big, tall, good-looking, long-haired, leather-wearing vampire with mixed martial arts skills.
After hearing about these books from so many people on Twitter, I decided to give the first book a chance. I wasn’t convinced that I’d like them as I don’t usually go the romance route with books. Since it was about vampires, I figured I’d give it a go as paranormal stuff is my usual reading preference. Needless to say, it’s been three and a half weeks since I started the first book and I’m now half-way through the seventh book. I ask myself, “What the hell was I waiting for to read these books?” I LOVE THEM!!!! Continue reading
