For those of you that know me, you know that I have a bit of an obsessive personality. Yes, I know! Knowing it is half the battle. So, you might be wondering what my latest obsession is. BIKERS!!!!!
I have always appreciated a hot guy on a bike (those of you that follow me on Pinterest know this). Not a bicycle, a MOTORCYCLE. Preferably a Harley Davidson.
Twenty-five year old Charlotte “Charlie” Barrow is caught between her old life and the one she is beginning to build when she crosses paths with a handsome stranger on the subway. Not looking for romance, she closes her heart off to the possibilities of love. With a knack for mishaps, Charlie maintains her sense of humor while befriending the kind stranger who seems to be there at all the right times.
New York freelance writer, Charlie Adams, is forging his own path beyond the expectations of the society circles of his childhood. Rejecting family money, and fast-lane friends, he is snubbed by his family as he follows his own compass to a life more extraordinary.
Through a coincidence of events, they come to rely on each other for comfort. This is the tale of two Charlies learning to trust again while fighting their fates to create their own destiny.
It’s been almost four years since I had to put my beloved cat of seventeen years down. I miss him a lot. I had him longer than I have had my own children. For a long time, I didn’t even think about getting another cat, which made my husband happy.
You see, I’ve always been a cat lover. My husband… not so much! When we got married, I begged and pleaded and hubby caved. We got Merlin!
After Merlin, DH made me promise that we would be pet-free for at least a year. I had no problem making this promise as I couldn’t even think of replacing Merlin. [W4R: Awwww, this is sooo sad! ;..( I need a HEA ASAP!]
As I mentioned before, it’ll be four years at the end of March and now I am seriously wanting another cat. My problem? DH is not keen on the idea. [W4R: Rut-roh!]
These are his claims:
- He likes not living with fur everywhere. [NOTE: As you can see from the pic, Merlin was white and our wardrobe mainly consists of black and more black clothes. This was a constant issue for him.]
- He says it’s nice to be able to go away and not worry about who’s going to look after the cat.
- He says that he doesn’t want to have to constantly keep shooing the cat off the counter.[NOTE: Again, I draw your attention to the pic: Cat… counter…]
- He likes not having a cat standing at his feet while he’s eating dinner.
All of his claims are valid. [W4R: Is that code word for “silly”? Cats rule! LOL] I’m not going to bother denying it. I have to keep reminding him of the times when Merlin would sense him coming and would be waiting to greet him at the door when he came home from work. And remind him of the times when Merlin used to cozy up to him on the couch while he watched TV.
So, my mission is to convince DH that we can have a cat again. I’ve always liked black cats and would love to get one. Especially one with blue eyes (as per first-born’s request).
Yes, a black cat with short fur wouldn’t shed as much, or at least you wouldn’t notice it as much on our black clothing.
We (first-born and I) have already picked out a name for our future cat [NOTE: that’s me trying to project positive thoughts to the universe 🙂] His/her name is going to be Appleton Rumball. [W4R: WTF?] I know, you’re thinking “WTF?!” [W4R: Yes, I totally was.. how’d you know that..?] It’s just one of those things that first-born and I came up with together. I suggested Rumball and she (loving all things Jamaican) thought of Appleton (as in the Jamaican Rum) and voila! Appleton Rumball. [W4R: Again, I say, WTF…. LOL haha… ]
So what I’ve started doing is texting pics of cute little black kitties to DH throughout the day, with messages attached like:
Could this be Appleton Rumball?
I’m thinking that if I’m relentless and bombard him with all the cute images he’ll give in eventually.
Wish me luck!!!! [W4R: Good luck!!!!! And give in, Mr. Stefter, go ahead & give your ladies what they want, you’ll only be happy that way, mister! 🙂 Oh and I have enclosed a photo below of one of the most awesomest (yes, I know that isn’t a word) cats around… LOL!]
I was thinking about how blah Tuesdays are. (Yes! These are the sorts of things that go through my head.) I mean, Monday is the day that everyone loves to hate. Wednesday is hump day. Thursday is the day before Friday. And Friday is… well.. it’s FRIDAY!!!! Poor Tuesday is just… neglected. [W4R: Tsk tsk!! LOL]
So in my infinite brilliance, I thought of a way to spice up Tuesday! Every Tuesday, I’m going to post some yummy eye candy. A “flavour of the week,” so to speak. 😉 [NOTE: Just for the record: it’s not going to be Rob… well, it might be every now and then! W4R: *gasps*]
I Googled “definition of tantalizing” and this is what I got from The Free Dictionary:
tr.v.tan·ta·lized, tan·ta·liz·ing, tan·ta·liz·esTo excite (another) by exposing something desirable while keeping it out of reach.

I know what you’re all thinking: You can’t even imagine that I could be posting about some guy other than Rob. Don’t panic!!! Rob still reigns supreme in my heart but sometimes you just have to stand up and take notice of other hotness. [W4R: I’m panicking, I’m panniccccinnnnnggggg *presses Panic Button!*]
I credit @stephanieS74 over on Twitter for getting me all addicted to the hottness that is David Gandy. (just when you thought it wasn’t possible for me to become addicted to one more thing! LOL) She’s the first person I heard use the term “GandyCandy.” I give credit to whoever came up with that term because it definitely fits.
David Gandy is a British model/actor well-known for his Dolce & Gabbana ad campaigns. According to his profile on Models.com, he has dark brown hair, blue eyes (GAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!), is 188cm tall (that’s about 6’3″) and he wears size 10 shoes. [W4R: Damn! Umm.. I mean, that’s nice… Sounds nice. *looks around for Rob…]
He is the subject of a new book that was published September 2011. From what I’ve seen, there are some incredibly beautiful photographs in this book. (Um….it’s my birthday next month… this book would look fantastic on my coffee table….just thought I’d put that out there. ;))
Also, he blogs for British Vogue. You can check out his blog here, and he’s created an app called David Gandy’s Style Guide For Men.
Since this post is entitled GandyCandy, [W4R: On a side note, my computer’s spell-checker wanted me to correct it to ‘handy-dandy’ LOL] it’s only right that I leave you with some more of the sweet stuff.
[W4R: *giggles* I can see his underpants. Me likey!]
[W4R: *pulse racing, brow sweating* Waaaaiiiiitttt!!! Where’s Rob?!?!?!?!?!?! Ohh…. *fans self* thank God… LOL]
I was going to leave the post there but I just can’t!!!!!! Rob used to be a model too and he could definitely still model now if he wanted to.
