I’m a ‘Breaking Dawn’ Survivor
So November 18th has come and gone and I’ve survived. Death by Robward is always a possibility and thankfully, I’m still amongst the living. [W4R: *Mike Newton Voice* “You’re aalliiiveee! Alliiiveeee!” LOL]
In case you’re not sure what happened on November 18th [W4R: and are living under a rock…], The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 (now that’s a mouthful) was released.
I’m not willing to admit how many times I’ve seen this movie already, but rest assured that there are many more viewings to come in my future.
Did I enjoy it, you ask. OH HELL YEAH!!!!!
We all owe Bill Condon a big debt of gratitude for doing such a phenomenal job on this movie. This might very well be the best movie in the series. Now don’t get me wrong, the first movie Twilight will always have a special place in my heart (as will Twilight Edward – that bouffant, that peacoat, that Volvo… GAH!!!!!!) It just seems that there was a much bigger budget for this one and um…. we get to see Edward thrusting half-naked.
SPOILER ALERT!!! If you haven’t watched the movie yet and don’t want any spoilers, please don’t read this next part. [W4R: No peaking!] Continue reading
Oh, That Boy’s Hair!!!!
Nothing creates as big of a stir as speculation on what Rob has done to his hair. That Boy’s hair has the power to bring down Twitter. I’m convinced of this! LOL
Over the last few years, Rob has had various hair styles/lengths. I’d like to do a brief retrospect of a few of my favourite ones.
All Because of ONE Book!!!
I don’t know if you know this or not but I am an avid reader. I have been for a very long time. I’ve always enjoyed reading about supernatural stuff (i.e.: vampires, witches, faeries, etc). Back in 2007, it was because of my love of reading everything vampire that I ended up reading Twilight. It was purely by accident that I picked up a book about a girl who falls in love with a vampire. Little did I know how much this would change my world.
I know what you’re thinking! How could a book change someone’s world?! Well, when I say it changed my world, I don’t mean that it changed my life in a profound way. Meeting and marrying my soul mate, having my children – these were profound changes. I just mean that it opened the door for a bunch of new experiences that I would not have come across otherwise.
The first thing that Twilight has done for me is that it’s introduced me to a whole group of people who I would not have met in my day-to-day life. I have met people who I will consider lifelong friends. I won’t name them here but they know who they are. (*W4R coughs obnoxiously loud here* LOL)
Aside from meeting new people, it’s also introduced me to a certain hot, young, British actor. Yeah, you know who I’m talking about, don’t pretend you don’t. I have never EVER been as intrigued by an actor the way I am about Robert Pattinson! It’s odd what I’ve done because of this beautiful boy (insert: exhibit A). I just think he is the sexiest man alive (I wish People Magazine would get with the program on this already)!!!! As an actor, he’s growing and changing. He’s so much more than Edward Cullen. I look forward to many more great things from him in the future. I CAN’T WAIT!!!!!
Also because of Twilight, I was introduced to the world of Fan Fiction. I like to joke that I’ve been stuck in FanFic Hell for over two years, mainly because I have almost completely given up on “real” books. (Note from W4R: You know the old saying… “Once you go fan fic, you never go back!” LOL) I have read and continue to read so many fanfic stories that up until recently, I haven’t had time to read a “real” book. When I first heard of FanFic, I was reluctant to read any of it but then a few friends convinced me to read The List by LauraCullen… and dagnabit I was hooked! I have read so many wonderful stories written by so many incredibly talented people. If you need a fanfic story rec, I’m happy to give you a few. Continue reading
Am I Tapping Into My Inner Teenager?
I promised myself that this blog would NOT be about Rob… all the time. But here he is again in another post.
As you may or may not know, I am a BIG, HUGE, GINORMOUS Robert Pattinson fan. So, you can imagine how ecstatic I was when it was confirmed that he’d be working with David Cronenberg on Cosmopolis here in Toronto. I think I actually jumped up from my lying position in bed, and scared the living crap out of my husband when I heard the news.
Since then I’ve been to the “set” a total of 5 times. I have had the pleasure of feasting my eyes on that beautiful man each of those times. My husband hasn’t been too amused about it but he’s managed to come to grips with the situation. The other day, someone asked me if I’m tapping into my inner teenager. At first I was a bit offended but then I started thinking about that question. Have I been getting in touch with my inner teenager? So, as usual I started to make lists in my head to either support or deny this. Continue reading
