I was ecstatic to receive and ARC of Sweet Filthy Boy in exchange for my honest opinion.
One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him.But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation—and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out—Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume—her sweet, filthy fling—to France for the summer and just…play.
When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away
Having read and loved Beautiful Bastard and Beautiful Stranger I knew that I was going to love this book. I’m not gonna lie. The title definitely had me intrigued.
It turns out that what happens in Vegas doesn’t always stay in Vegas. In this case, it continues on in Paris. When faced with continuing on with school towards a career that her father wants her to pursue, Mia impulsively decides to accompany Ansel to Paris.
The actual flight to Paris is, shall we say… problematic. Ansel of course handles it all rather well and takes really good care of her. He really is sweet. I think every girl NEEDS an Ansel of her own. I really do! Look at this quote!
“I hate killing spiders, because I think they’re amazing, but I’ll do it for you if you’re afraid of them.”
You see what I mean???!!! You may not think that’s special but take it from an arachnophobe, THIS is true love!!!
Once she’s back to herself, she’s in Paris, doesn’t speak French and Ansel is working. She goes sightseeing on her own and really begins to love her time there. I would like to point out that Ansel leaves the cutest French lessons for her.
“How are you? Comment allez-vous?
Thank you. Merci.
Do you speak English? Parlez-vous anglais?
Where is the toilet? Ou sont les toilettes?
Why no, I’m not interested. My husband is perfect.
Comment, non, ca ne m’interesse pas. Mon mari est parfait.“
Of course, things are not as perfect as you would think and Mia finds out that Ansel has been keeping a secret. A secret that can come between them.
I loved Mia and Ansel’s friends as well. I’m definitely looking forward to the next books in the series.
There were lots of hot, steamy scenes making this book worthy of five very steamy cups of coffee.
Bio / Social Media
Lauren Billings (but everyone calls her Lo) has a Ph.D. in neuroscience and before she made writing her full-time job, would spend her days doing nerdy research-type things wearing a lab coat and goggles. She is silly Mommy to two littles, wife to one mountain biking homebrewing scientist, bestie to a shoe-stealer, and an unabashed lover of YA and romance.
Christina Hobbs (but you’ll always hear Lo call her PQ) used to spend her days in a junior high counseling office surrounded by teenagers. Married to the cutest boy in school, she has a thirteen year old daughter, is an unapologetic lover of boy bands and glitter, and also likes to steal Lo’s shoes.
