ISHO Summary

Danger is heating up…

When Carly Reese’s beloved fashion boutique catches fire, she sees her dreams go up in smoke. The good news is that Carly was saved from the flames by a barking dog nearby. She soon discovers the heroic pooch is a trained K-9 who’s guarding his unconscious partner …a gorgeous firefighter who ends up in Carly’s arms.

Noah Glover and his K-9 are a fearless duo, and Noah has clearly met his match with the brave, beautiful Carly. Soon they team up to track down the arsonist behind the blast – a psychotic criminal who’s intent on framing Noah. Meanwhile, the sparks between Noah and and Carly could ignite a five-alarm fire. Should they smother their feelings in the name of justice…or fan the flames of passion? Find out in Explosive Forces!

I think D.D. Ayres has really outdone herself with this book.  I’ve loved all the other books but I think this one is my favourite.

For a change, the heroine saves the hero in this book. Carly saves an unconscious Noah from a fire that’s made to look like it was a suicide attempt.   These two have tons of chemistry but she’s a witness to a crime and he’s under investigation for the said crime. Clearly, the two should not mingle.

I sat on the edge of my seat as slowly, information about the person framing Noah and the motives were revealed.  I couldn’t put this book down.

Of course, this wouldn’t be a K-9 Rescue book without Marley, Noah’s lovable K-9 partner.

All the intrigue and action made this book worth of five delicious coffees for me.  I hope there will be more in this series.

ISHO Summary

When it comes to training K-9 patrol dogs, Yardley Summers always trusts her instincts. But when it comes to dating men, she keeps her heart on a very short leash. Mostly, she’s too busy with her four-legged trainees at Harmonie Kennels to commit to a relationship. Only two men have managed to distract her: a handsome Doctors Without Borders physician who’s suddenly gone missing—and the red-hot dog trainer from her past who’s suddenly back in her life…

Now a K-9 rescue team leader, Kye McGarren has never forgotten the days he trained at Yardley’s camp—or the nights he spent in her arms. When he hears that Yardley is on a mission to find the missing doctor, Kye is determined to keep her out of danger. With his K-9 partner by his side, he joins Yardley on a death-defying mission—one that reignites their mutual passion. Will Kye be able to rescue his romantic rival…without losing the woman he loves?

I’ve been reading about Yardley Summers from the beginning of this series and I knew her story was going to be a good one.

From the synopsis you know that there were two men who meant something to her.  One is missing and the other one is back from the past. Kye, the man from her past, is going to help her find out about her missing “boyfriend”.

I need to say right now that I love Kye.  Big, sexy, Hawaiian and a K-9 search and rescue team leader.  I thought he had a great sense of humour and did I mention sexy?  I was anxious to find out why Kye had left Yardley all those years ago.

I already liked Yardley from the bits and pieces we got of her in the other books.  She is one tough lady.  Even when she was in trouble she was no damsel in distress.

Just like the other books in this series, D.D. Ayres puts the story together with enough mystery and intrigue to keep you riveted.

I cannot complete this post without mentioning the dogs in this book.  Lily, a Nova Scotia Toller, is probably the sweetest dog ever.  Picture her draped over the shoulders of the big sexy Hawaiian man. Yeah…that’s exactly what I thought:  Amazing!!!  Then of course, there’s Yardley’s dog Oleg.  Oleg is a Czech Wofldog.  He’s a little bit scary and a whole lot amazing.  I’m sure you’ll want to do what I did and head on over to Google to get visuals on these amazing dogs.

I totally enjoyed Rival Forces and gave it four exceptionally delicious cups of coffee.  I am definitely looking forward to the next book in this series.

ISHO SummaryJori Garrison trains dogs for Warrior Wolf Pack, which provides service animals for disabled veterans. Four years ago, she was wrongly convicted of a crime—thanks to her no-good ex-fiancé. Now she just wants to live her life in peace with her beloved dogs. No men, no complications. But it’s hard to play it cool when a lethally hot male is on her tail—and the attraction is fierce, mutual, and dangerous…

Lauray “Law” Batisse is a Military Police veteran who was wounded in Afghanistan. Haunted by the loss of his K-9 partner in combat, he’s reluctant to accept a service dog named Samantha into his life. But once he meets her trainer—the gorgeous Jori Garrison—he can’t fight his primal instincts. And neither can Jori. This sexy alpha male might be the only man strong enough to unleash her desires. And when unseen enemies start hunting them down, he and his new K-9 partner might be her only hope… to survive.

isho-my-opinion2I was pretty excited to start this third book in D.D. Ayres’ K-9 Rescue series.  I’ve been reading since the beginning and am pretty much hooked on this series.

Once again, D.D. Ayres has created a story line and characters that have you completely immersed and totally vested in their outcome.

Law Batisse is a sexy badass veteran who, against his will and at his sister’s urging, ends up with a service dog to help with his PTSD.  When he gets the dog, Samantha, he also meets her trainer Jori.  Their attraction is instant.  Although neither one of them is looking for a relationship, especially not Law, they give in to “the moment”.

Jori has just come out of prison for a crime she was wrongly convicted of and is starting a new life as a service dog trainer. She fully understands that Law doesn’t think he needs Samantha but Jori is pretty confident that if he just gives it time he and Sam will bond.  She’s also hopeful for herself and Law. I enjoyed their journey in coming to terms with what they each mean to one another.

As much as I love Law and Jori together – yes, they are hot and steamy, I totally fell in love with Samantha aka Sam.  I loved that D.D. Ayres puts in a few parts from Sam’s POV. I mean I REALLY REALLY LOVED IT!!! Sam is just doing her job and doing it well despite Law’s stubbornness.  Throw a feisty cat named Argyle into the mix and we’ve got a fantastic cast of characters.

Again, D.D. Ayres wrote a great story with plenty of intrigue and hot moments.  I gave Primal Force four delicious steamy cappuccinos.

ISHO Summary“Incredible! You’ll be on the edge of your seat to see if the heroine can make it out alive.”—Catherine Coulter, New York Times bestselling author on Irresistible Force

The only thing more powerful than fear is desire…

A seasoned K-9 officer with the police in Maryland, Cole Jamison has left her old life behind her. With a new home and a new partner—a protective canine named Hugo—Cole is ready for fresh challenges. A crucial position on an important drug task force is exactly what she wants…until she discovers her gorgeous, infuriating ex-husband will be the DEA agent in charge.

Agent Scott Lucca may be a pro when it comes to undercover assignments, but this job is daunting even for him. Posing as a happy couple on the dog competition circuit means he and Cole need to get a lot closer than they’ve been in years. Playing a live-in couple should seem like a walk in the park compared to tracking a brutal criminal, but suddenly nothing could be more dangerous than the passionate fire they’ve rekindled…

isho-my-opinion2I was pretty darn happy about receiving this ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion.

I’ve read the other books in this series and really enjoyed them so I was looking forward to this one.  D.D. Ayres did not disappoint.

It’s known from the onset that Scott and Cole were married before so of course I wanted to know what happened that made them separate. It also seemed that there really was no closure to the demise of their relationship.  Their undercover work forces them to work together and face their issues.

In addition to dealing with their own relationship, there’s the undercover operation they’re working on plus a past job that is rearing its ugly face now, just to further complicate things.  Lots of intrigue.  I love trying to figure out what’s going on.  Makes for an exciting read.

I gave Force of Attraction four delicious and satisfying cups of java.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. This is book one in the series K-9 Rescue.

I’m not gonna lie.  The cover definitely caught my attention – not just with the hot guy but the dog too.

I totally loved James! He’s hot. He’s truly a nice guy and he’s a cop (which automatically increases the hotness level). In tracking down his missing K-9 partner, Bogart, he meets Shay. He’s drawn to her and their chemistry sizzles.  Add to this the fact that Bogart likes Shay too.  He ends up trying to protect her from crazy stuff that keeps happening to her.

Shay Appleton has got to be one of the toughest, strongest females I’ve ever met in any book.  She’s endured so much but she keeps on going.  I’ll admit that at one point in this book I felt so bad for her and I didn’t know how it would be possible for everything to turn out positively for her.

D.D. Ayres has created characters that you love and want things to work out for but she equally creates characters that you hate.  I don’t think I’ve hated any exes as much as the ones in this book.

I enjoyed this book a lot and gave it five delicious cups of coffee and I’ll throw in some doughnuts too (I couldn’t help it.  The cop thing compelled me to throw in the doughnuts. Yes, I’m a nerd.)

I’ll be honest.  I don’t usually prefer to read novellas but I so enjoyed Irresistible Force  that I decided to buy Necessary Force and give it a shot.

I loved it!  It was a fast read. Even though it is a novella there was suspense.  I was so curious as to what would happen.  Lucky for Georgie, Brad (hunky FBI agent) and Zander his K-9 partner were on the case and helped her with the crazy stalker and possible bomber.  I was totally surprised by the outcome.  Good job D.D. Ayres!!!

I gave this four yummy coffees (would’ve been five if it was longer) and I’ll throw in some doggie treats for Zander.
