Viv Franklin is a retired Army captain who now designs software programs. She’s also a romance junkie who longs for a knight in shining armor or a cowboy on a wild stallion or a strapping firefighter to sweep her off her feet. Knowing she’s never going to meet her hero by spending all her time behind her keyboard, she uproots her life to move to California, where she meets an actual cowboy. And—sigh—an engineer. But which man is truly Clark Kent and which is her Superman?
A madcap romantic comedy with unforgettable characters and the promise of true love, Screwdrivered has just what you need.
I received an advance copy of this in exchange for my honest opinion. If there’s a new Alice Clayton book released, I’M SO THERE FOR IT!!! I love her sweet and funny love stories. She did not disappoint with Screwdrivered.
We first met Viv in Rusty Nailed…let me take a moment to think back on Simon and Caroline and Clive…*sigh*… Viv is an old friend of Simon’s. She’s inherited an old house from her aunt and immediately dives in to restore the house that holds great memories for her.
Viv loves reading romance novels and isn’t afraid to admit it. Since coming to her house, she’s met Hank the guy her aunt had taking care of the farm animals, and she’s met Clark, the local librarian who comes around to remind her that her house is a historical building and therefore she cannot do any work to it without consent…HIS consent. She lusts after Hank and becomes friends with Clark. Once you start reading the book you’ll know who you’ll be rooting for.
I found Screwdrivered to be a fun, fast, easy read and gave it five hot and delicious cups of freshly ground coffee.
Novelist Alice Clayton makes her home in St. Louis where she enjoys gardening but not weeding, baking but not cleaning up after, and is trying desperately to get her long-time boyfriend to make her an honest woman–and please buy her a Bernese Mountain dog.
After working for years in the cosmetics industry as a makeup artist, esthetician, and educator, Alice picked up a pen (read laptop) for the first time at 33 to begin a new career: author. Having never written anything longer than a grocery list, she soon found writing to be the creative outlet she’d been missing since walking away from the theater 10 years before.
She has a great time combining her love of storytelling with a sense of silly, and she was shocked and awed to be nominated for a Goodreads Author award in 2010 for her debut novels, the first two installments of The Redhead Series–The Unidentified Redhead and The Redhead Revealed. Her latest novel Wallbanger is a return to her trademark comedic erotica, or funny smut, that Alice has become known for.
Additionally, Alice loves spending time with her besties on Not Your Mother’s Podcast (check them out on iTunes) and has recently partnered with actor Greg Grunberg, blogger Brittany Gibbons, and actress Keili Lefkovitz on a new travel show that will begin filming in January.
Alice enjoys pickles, Bloody Marys, eight hours of sleep and a good pounding.
