The Book Barista: Rock Chick Regret by Kristen Ashley

The Book Barista

This is what’s on my Kobo today:

Rock Chick Regret by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Regret (Rock Chick, #7)

Sadie Townsend is known by all as The Ice Princess and she’s worked hard to earn her reputation. Her father, a now-incarcerated Drug Lord, has kept her under his thumb her whole life and she’s learned enough from living in his world to give everyone the cold shoulder. But one inebriated night, she shows the Real Sadie to the undercover agent she knows is investigating her father, the handsome Hector Chavez, and he knows he’ll stop at nothing to have her.

Hector makes one (huge) mistake; he waits for Sadie to come to him. Tragedy strikes and Sadie’s got a choice, she can retreat behind her Ice Fortress or she can embrace the Rock Chick/Hot Bunch World. Guided by Hector, the Rock Chicks, the Hot Bunch and her new gay roommates, Buddy and Ralphie, Sadie negotiates a life out from under her father’s thumb, a life that includes poison, arson and learning how to make s’mores.

It’s been a few weeks since I started reading this Rock Chick series and I’m now on book 7, the most recent in the series.  I’ve read other books in between but I was always anxious to get back to this series.

These books have made me literally laugh out loud and they’ve made cry.  [I know, I know, I’m a big sap and cry at the drop of a hat.]  There have been shootings, kidnappings, beatings and yes even a rape.

The Rock Chicks have all been incredibly funny and actually quite strong.  Not sure which one is my favourite.  I think I might have to go with Ava and Sadie.  As for the Hot Bunch, I’m going to go with Hank, Luke and Hector.  Each one hotter than the last. [I have to say that Kristen Ashley has got the alpha male down to the T.]

Throw into the mix Tex, a big, wild and crazy war vet who just happens to be the best barista EVER and Duke, a Harley Davidson riding, bandana wearing (picture Willie Nelson with bandana around his head) father figure to all the Rock Chicks.  And of course, the gay friends that every girl needs to have, Tod, Stevie, Ralphie and Buddy.

All in all, this ensemble cast has made for a great series that I have really enjoyed reading.  I understand that there is to be one more Rock Chick book featuring Ally.  I’m definitely looking forward to reading that one.

five coffee cups

I do believe I’ve given all the books 5 steaming cups of coffee.

Oh…also, I learned that a party just isn’t a party unless cashews are being served. 🙂

What are you reading today?
