The Book Barista: Highlander Untamed by Monica McCarty

The Book Barista

In light of my Tantalizing Tuesdays post this week, my book buddy Carrie, suggested we read a Highlander book.  I’m always up for a good Highlander story. Who isn’t, right?  So, this is what’s on my Kobo today:

Highlander Untamed by Monica McCarty

Highlander Untamed

Rory MacLeod is a bold and powerful Highland Chief with only one allegiance—to his clan. He vows revenge against the rival MacDonald clan, though duty demands a handfast marriage to Isabel MacDonald—a bride he does not want and has no intention of keeping. But Rory couldn’t have anticipated the captivating woman who challenges his steely control, and unleashes the untamed passion simmering beneath his fierce exterior.

Blessed with incomparable beauty, Isabel MacDonald is prepared to use every means possible—including seduction—to uncover her husband’s most guarded secrets. Instead Rory awakens Isabel’s deepest desires and her sweetest fantasies. Now Isabel has found the happiness she’s always dreamed of with the very man she must betray, and discovers that passion can be far more dangerous than revenge.

It’s been a while since I read Karen Marie Moning’s Highlander series.  Having really enjoyed that I’ve put many a Highlander book on my to read list.  I’m now half way through this book and am enjoying it.  What’s not to enjoy?  Rivalry between clans.  Treachery.  Sexual tension.  Rory MacLeod is everything you’d want and expect in a clan chief and Highlander.  It makes for a great read.

This book is the first in the MacLeods of Skye Trilogy.  It looks as though I will gladly be reading the other books in the series.

While I’m at it, why not take the opportunity to leave you with another hot man in a kilt pic?
