This is what I’m reading on my Kobo today:

Rock-My-Bed-cover

Everything always seems to fall into place for twenty-four year-old Aubrey Jenson, except for when it comes to her luck with men. Bad boys always draw her in and crush her heart, and Black Falcon’s lead guitarist, Riff, is no exception. After sharing a few wild nights together, she leaves him behind, knowing a guy like Riff isn’t the relationship type, merely just a play thing.

When she returns to New York, she tries to get the passion she felt in Riff’s arms out of her head by dating Isaac, a successful representative at Center Stage Marketing. Just when she thinks she’s forgotten Riff, she’s forced to see him again when her best friend, Lanie, ropes her into being a bridesmaid for her upcoming wedding to Black Falcon front man, Noel.

Sparks fly instantly between Aubrey and Riff when they’re forced to reunite, and suddenly she finds herself caught between the man that’s good for her and the one who completely rocks her in every way.

I’ve been waiting for this book since last year after reading Rock The Heart. I definitely loved Noel and Lanie’s story but I was most curious about Riff.  Yes, his mohawk, tattoos and piercings had me intrigued. What can I say? I like what I like ;)

I’m about 64% through this book and my heart breaks for Riff (aka Zach). An event from his past has him believing that he’s unworthy of love.

“I hate that I’m so fucked up that no one can stand to be around me long term.”

I’m hoping that Aubrey is going to be the one to let him know that he is loved and that he is deserving of love.

I’m going back to the book.  I want to finish this tonight.

The Book Barista: So Many Books!!!!

The Book Barista

The last couple of weeks have been crazy as far as book releases go.  So many books that I desperately want to read have been released.

Of all these new releases I really think that Reckless by S.C. Stephens is the most highly anticipated.

Reckless

Can love survive when life gets Reckless?

When the band hits it big, Kiera and Kellan must ask themselves: Can their love for each other survive the constant pressures of superstardom? The friendships they’ve formed, the new family they’ve found, and the history they’ve forged will all play a part in helping them navigate the turbulent waters of the band’s exploding popularity. A greedy executive hell-bent on success, a declining pop star looking for an edge, and a media circus that twists lies into truths are just some of the obstacles the lovers will have to overcome if they are going to remain together. Fame comes with a price-but will it cost Kiera and Kellan everything?

I know everyone has been patiently waiting for more Kellan Kyle in this third book of the Thoughtless series.  I just started this one so I’m just bracing myself for the angst.  I’m also wanting more Griffin.  I love him too!

The Book Barista: Rock Chick Regret by Kristen Ashley

The Book Barista

This is what’s on my Kobo today:

Rock Chick Regret by Kristen Ashley

Rock Chick Regret (Rock Chick, #7)

Sadie Townsend is known by all as The Ice Princess and she’s worked hard to earn her reputation. Her father, a now-incarcerated Drug Lord, has kept her under his thumb her whole life and she’s learned enough from living in his world to give everyone the cold shoulder. But one inebriated night, she shows the Real Sadie to the undercover agent she knows is investigating her father, the handsome Hector Chavez, and he knows he’ll stop at nothing to have her.

Hector makes one (huge) mistake; he waits for Sadie to come to him. Tragedy strikes and Sadie’s got a choice, she can retreat behind her Ice Fortress or she can embrace the Rock Chick/Hot Bunch World. Guided by Hector, the Rock Chicks, the Hot Bunch and her new gay roommates, Buddy and Ralphie, Sadie negotiates a life out from under her father’s thumb, a life that includes poison, arson and learning how to make s’mores. The Book Barista: Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren

The Book Barista

I don’t usually like to mention that a book used to be Fan Fiction because of the negativity that some people automatically feel for it without giving it a chance.  But, in this instance, it seems to be mentioned casually and no one seems to mind.

When I heard The Office was being published I was giddy.  It is one of my top five FanFic stories. [With publication of Beautiful Bastard, four of my top five FanFics have been published.  I've got my fingers crossed on the last one.]

So, this is what’s on my Kobo today:

Beautiful Bastard

The Book Barista: Highlander Untamed by Monica McCarty

The Book Barista

In light of my Tantalizing Tuesdays post this week, my book buddy Carrie, suggested we read a Highlander book.  I’m always up for a good Highlander story. Who isn’t, right?  So, this is what’s on my Kobo today:

Highlander Untamed by Monica McCarty

The Book Barista: Reaper’s Property by Joanna Wylde

The Book Barista

What’s on my Kobo today?

I’m about half way through Reaper’s Property by Joanna Wylde.  Here’s the synopsis:

Reaper'sProperty

Marie doesn’t need a complication like Horse. The massive, tattooed, badass biker who shows up at her brother’s house one afternoon doesn’t agree. He wants Marie on his bike and in his bed. Now.

But Marie just left her abusive jerk of an ex-husband and she’s not looking for a new man. Especially one like Horse—she doesn’t know his real name or where he lives, she’s ninety percent certain he’s a criminal and that the “business” he talks with her brother isn’t website design. She needs him out of her life, which would be a snap if he’d just stop giving her mind-blowing orgasms.

Horse is part of the Reapers Motorcycle Club, and when he wants something, he takes it. What he wants is Marie, but she’s not interested in becoming “property of”.

Then her brother steals from the club. Marie can save him by giving Horse what he wants—at home, in public, on his bike… If she’s a very, very good girl, she’ll get lots more of those orgasms only he can offer, and he’ll let her brother live.

Maybe.

Continuing on with my obsession with fictional bikers I found out about this book on Goodreads.  As soon as I read the synopsis I knew I wanted to read it.  Then of course my next thought was:  Horse?! [and yes, it is what you think].

Like other books about Motorcycle Clubs it’s not all fluffy and rosie, but who doesn’t love a sexy bad boy on a motorcycle?

So far I’m liking this book, it’s looking like at least a four cup rating.
